""Birthday Blessings""

Wednesday evening,

September 24th, 2008,

approximately 35 friends joined together

surprising

Nikki Duke and Pastor Brad Harris

Nikki had been informed that the party was a

surprise for Pastor Brad

and

he was told the party was for Nikki

since her birthday really was September 24th,

 

Since Pastor Brad

thought the surprise was for Niki,

he made calls inviting many to

celebrate Nikki's birthday.

Those of us who received Brad's

call could barely keep from snickering,

but we all maintained

our composure and thanked him

for inviting us to the surprise party for Nikki.

 

Because our Pastor is a very caring

and compassionate man,

naturally he would invite

as many as he thought would like to celebrate

Nikki's surprise birthday party.

 

As we all gathered for the surprise party,

Pastor's wife, Debbie,

played the piano we we

sang many beautiful hymns.

What

a wonderful evening, beautiful weather

and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

 

Nikki was surprised first

with a special decorated cake from her daughter,

Megan.

Nikki had also invited her sister to

celebrate Pastor Brad's birthday

and

her sister was indeed

surprised because she did not know

the party was also for Nikki.

 

After we surprised Niki,

Pastor Brad was very surprised with his

birthday cake

and he laughed and laughed

just thinking about all the calls

he had made inviting everyone to his own

surprise birthday party.

 

Pastor Brad's birthday is September 28th.

Nikki did not mention her age but

because Donna read a humorous poem

she had written in honor of Brad's birthday,

we all now know he is

58 years old on September 28th.

 

We enjoyed a variety of cakes,

angel food,

white and chocolate birthday cakes,

a scruptiouis yellow cake with yummy icing,

a delicious bunt cake

all served with ice cream,

coffee, tea and lemonade.

Many sampled a small piece of all the cakes.

 

Pastor Brad,

Happy 58th Birthday,

Sunday the 28th of September 2008.

 

We all very much enjoyed the surprise party for

Nikki and Pastor Brad.

It was a very nice evening for all of us

and

we will remember the fun we had for many years.

SPECIAL THANK FROM PASTOR BRAD

Thanks so much to all who helped plan and put together the

suprise birthday party for myself and Nikki Duke.

I think we were both really surprised when we found 

out it was for us both. I enjoyed the cards and notes

 of encouragement so much. I really thank you

 for being such a gracious, loving congregation.
